ABOUT THE BOOK
Mad about Cricket? 'Ground Rules' celebrates the game, the ten Test nations and their most revered grounds. Written by some of the leading names in cricket, David Gower (Foreword), Sourav Ganguly, Steve Waugh, Andy Flower and Kumar Sangakkara, this 464-page illustrated hardback book provides an ‘alternative account’ of the history of the game, from 1877 to the present day, told through the eyes of the world’s leading Test Match grounds.
Each chapter takes a different Test Match venue from one of the 10 Test playing nations – two in the case of Australia, England and India – and provides a fascinating, colourful account of the players, matches and incidents that have shaped the history of Test cricket at that ground. ‘Ground Rules’ is beautifully illustrated with over 200 large format colour images – many of them rare - from some of the world’s leading cricket photographers, including Patrick Eager, Graham Morris and sports photographic agencies such as Getty Images.
The book also boasts a fascinating compilation of Wisden statistics – including the scorecards of every Test Match played at the featured grounds since the birth of international cricket
To commemorate the exceptional career of Steve Waugh we published a limited edition bound and stitched by hand in cricket ball leather, individually numbered and signed by the legendary Australian captain.
Each chapter is packed with sumptious photographs and original material. Almost as essential as Wisden for any cricket fan, and an excellent addition to the sporting bookshelf”.
